A Tour of Morocco During the Africa Cup of Nations (CAF)

In December 2025 and January 2026, Morocco will host the Africa Cup of Nations (CAF), one of the most important sporting events on the continent. The country was chosen to replace Guinea as the organizing country and will, in a way, be a prelude to what the country will experience in 2030 as host of the World Cup (together with Spain and Portugal), although the stadiums will not be exactly the same.

Therefore, if you are interested in traveling to Morocco coinciding with this event, we explain below what a tour of the organizing cities could be like. In fact, many of those we have in our catalog include these destinations. In addition, at Chic Morocco we are experts in organizing tailor-made trips, so you can contact us to create your own in a personalized way.

Cities in Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations

The Africa Cup of Nations matches in Morocco will be played in nine stadiums, spread across six different cities: Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier. In this way, the venues are located throughout the national territory: in the north, center and south, on the coast and inland.

Agadir: a Quintessential Vacation Destination

The city of Agadir is making the Adrar Stadium available to the CAF, with matches up to the quarter-finals. It is one of the quintessential vacation destinations in Morocco, with a large beach, a marina, a tourist cable car and numerous services for travelers, especially in terms of relaxation and well-being.

Casablanca: the Largest and most Vibrant City

Casablanca will host matches in its Mohammed V stadium, which should not be confused with the large stadium under construction for the 2030 World Cup. Traveling to this city, the largest in the country, can be a good time to discover its main monuments, such as the Hassan II Mosque, and above all immerse yourself in its vibrant and increasingly cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Fez: Football and Cultural Tradition

Fez and its only stadium (Fez Stadium) are another venue for the championship, with matches up to the round of 16. Its main tourist attractions are related to culture and tradition, within its historic medina (the largest in the country), where renowned crafts still survive: ceramics, leather goods, etc.

Marrakech: the Tourist Icon of Morocco

Due to its many attractions, Marrakech is considered the tourist capital of the country. Like Fez, its only stadium (Marrakech Stadium) will host matches, in this case up to the quarter-finals. Its medina, its museums and historical monuments coexist with more sophisticated proposals, such as golf courses, signature restaurants and much more.

Tangier: Football and Sea

Located in the Strait of Gibraltar, Tangier will be one of the cities that will most intensely experience the Africa Cup of Nations. Not surprisingly, its Ibn Batouta stadium is the one with the largest capacity (75,000 spectators) and will organize matches up to the semi-finals. Considered a bridge to the West, its maritime atmosphere (although in low season) will be a plus for those who visit it, as will its historic medina and kasbah.

Rabat: Capital, Final and More

Rabat, the capital of the country, will be the perfect city to experience the atmosphere of the Coca de África in Morocco, as it will host matches in four different stadiums: the Moulay Hassan, the Al Barid and the two of the Príncipe Moulay Abdellah sports complex. The long-awaited final will take place in one of them. And between match and match, much to do in Rabat: its Hassan Tower, its Kasbah of the Oudayas, its Mausoleum of Mohammed V, its Mohammed VI Museum of Modern Art, its contemporary architecture or its marina next to the Bouregreg River are some of the essential places to visit.
