The best panoramic views in Morocco

What are the best panoramic views in Morocco? Difficult to answer, because there are many viewpoints that offer spectacular overall images. Therefore, we do not limit ourselves to give you a single proposal, but we collectseveral viewpoints, often located at high points, but not only. They are perfect places for landscape, group or selfie-type photographs, which you can take during your trip, as these destinations are part of our circuits around the country.

Fez from Borj Nord

Fez can boast of having the largest medina in Morocco, so that covering it in a single image is complicated… but not impossible. To do so, you will have to move north, and in the Borj Nord museum and its surroundings you will find the perfect place to do so. The aforementioned museum, dedicated mainly to historical weapons (as in fact, this was a military-defensive structure), has a magnificent terrace for this purpose. But if you do not want to visit it or you find it closed, then from other places in its surroundings it is possible to enjoy a similar panoramic view, along the R501 road (Abu Bakr Ibn Al-Arabi street).

Agadir from the kasbah or the cableway

The Kasbah of Agadir is another good example of how old military buildings, strategically located on high points of the environment, can be reconverted into great tourist viewpoints today. In fact, it is the final station of the cable car station of the citySo you can enjoy one of the best panoramic views in Morocco from the ground or from the cabin. In the framing of your image will fit the entire bay of Agadir, with its port as protagonist.

Chaouen: numerous multicolored viewpoints

Chaouen is one of the most photogenic destinations, due to its location and color. Nestled among the green mountains of the Rif, its medina is tinged with the white color of lime and, above all, the blue that its inhabitants apply to the walls of their houses. The result is multiple viewpoints, scattered around the city, offering a surprising combination of nature and popular architecture. If we had to choose one, we would choose the Zayan Valley Corniche… although there are many others.

Rabat-Salé from the Kasbah of the Oudayas

The capital has one of the best viewpoints in Morocco, and not only for the views themselves, but also for the viewpoint itself: the Kasbah of the Oudayas, one of the most outstanding monuments of the city. What will appear before your eyes or before the lens of your camera is the coastline of Rabat, with its main beach, but also the neighboring Salé, which forms a metropolitan area. And in between, the mouth of the Bou Regreg river.

Ait Ben Haddou from Asif Ounila river

But as we said, it is not necessary to climb castles or mountains to enjoy the best panoramic views in Morocco: there are also those in low areas, along rivers. The best example is the most famous stamp of Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Berber ksar. To enjoy an overview of this fortified village, in adobe and crenellated, nothing better than going to the viewpoints of the river Asif Ounila, either from the main bridge or from the other side.

But these are just a few examples of the many viewpoints you will find in the country. In fact, in its most touristic city, Marrakech, you will find plenty of places with panoramic views: those offered by the locals with terrace that we tell you about in this other post. And you can ask our staff en route, because we can take you to many other strategic points to delight you with dreamy skylines, such as those of the Erg Chebbi dunes or the Atlantic coast.
