These are the best golf courses in Morocco in 2025

In the world of tourism, any aspect is evaluable and rankable. And sports facilities are no exception: in this post, we present a list of the best golf courses in Morocco in 2025. This last detail, the year, is important, as all rankings are classifications that vary over time, either because not all chosen places maintain their quality over the years or because others emerge with even higher quality standards.

In this case, we have decided to follow the criteria of the specialized website Top 100 Courses, which lists the 100 best courses by countries and continents. Thus, taking as reference the list of the 100 best courses in Africa, we focus on those in Morocco to extrapolate them to this other ranking.

Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, in Rabat

In the first place of this list of the best golf courses in Morocco in 2025 appears the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, located in the southern area of the city of Rabat and inaugurated in the 1960s. As one would expect from the most prestigious course in the capital, it stands out for its mix of difficulty and style that perfectly matches what its most illustrious user, King Mohammed VI, seeks, described as “the most enthusiastic” about this sport among contemporary monarchs. Its 18-hole red course is the most demanding, while the 18-hole blue course and the 9-hole green course are designed for more relaxed games. It occupies the third place in the ranking of the 100 best courses in Africa.

Al Houara, Tangier

Al Houara, on the outskirts of Tangier, is one of the most recent golf courses in Morocco, as it was officially inaugurated in 2022. It is part of the Hilton Al Houara Resort & Spa complex, on the beachfront and very close to the airport that serves the city, Ibn Batouta. It is perhaps this privileged location that propels this course to the second place in the Moroccan ranking (5th in all of Africa), offering its users two routes: one with 18 holes and another with 9.

Michlifen, Ifrane

From the beachfront to the mountains. Specifically, to Michlifen, in Ifrane, in the Middle Atlas, occupying the third place in Morocco and the eighth in Africa. This elevated location, about 1,700 meters above sea level, is a guarantee of greenery and nature around the greens, which appreciate the humidity and freshness of the place. It officially opened in 2018 and its single 18-hole course enjoys very good reviews for its surroundings and the level of care of the terrain.

Mazagan, El Jadida

This golf course, whose name recalls the Portuguese past of the city of El Jadida where it is located, occupies the 4th place in the Moroccan ranking and the 11th in all of Africa. Among the attractions of its 18 holes is having been designed by golf legend Gary Player. Like Al Houara, it is located next to the Atlantic coast, whose humidity and breeze envelop the entire circuit, especially the final holes.

Assoufid Golf Club, Marrakech

Marrakech, which has such tourist appeal, could not be missing from this ranking, and it appears with its Assoufid Golf Club. Located southwest of the city, it surprises with its contrast to the arid desert landscape of the surroundings. Here, its star hole is the 17th, located at the top of the circuit, thus offering spectacular panoramic views, with the High Atlas mountains in the background. It closes this top-5 and positions itself as the 13th best in Africa, according to the Top 100 Courses classification.
