The Agadir Cable Car is undoubtedly one of the main tourist attractions of the city. A leisure plan for those who spend one or more days in this sun and beach destination, before or after a good dip in its huge beach. And it is a new attraction for the city, since it was inaugurated in 2022, which shows the modernity of its facilities. Here we give you information about this plan, which will please both adults and children.
What is the Agadir Cable Car like?
The Agadir Cable Car is called Cable Car and covers a distance of 1,756 meters in total. That is what separates the two stations of the system, the head station, next to the Tildi bridge, and the destination, located next to the kasbah of Agadir Oufella, at the top of the mountain overlooking the city.
It has 29 glazed cabins, allowing a 360º view of the environment. In addition, these cabins are accessible for both wheelchairs and baby strollers. The larger ones have benches for 7-8 people, but there are also VIP cabins with 4 more comfortable and spacious seats, as well as space for drinks.
The great attraction of this cable car are the panoramic views from the sky. Thus, from a bird’s eye view, you can see the entire bay of Agadir, with its large beach, as well as the iconic marina and also the city’s kasbah, a defensive-military construction located in the upper part of the city.
In between, the Promenade du Souvenir, a recently planted urban forest, as well as the oldest neighborhoods of the center: Talborjt, Yachach and Founty, existing before the devastating earthquake of 1960. On the opposite side, the Anti Atlas Mountains loom in the distance. And of course, the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean offers an imposing image on the horizon.
As you can see below, there are single and return tickets, but there are also one-way tickets. In this case, the destination station is that of the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella, so that the return on foot to the city is downhill, for convenience. Those who opt for this option, should consider a journey of about 3 km on foot to the marina, which is about 40 minutes.
